Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas

I want to be a Celebrity, don't let me out of here....

by David Roche

Having been subjected to 3 days of total boredom at the Hilton Hotel Gatwick Airport, the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas provided a much-needed reminder that hotels can actually be fun!

Last year I stayed at the MGM Grand once and the Luxor twice and believed that it didn't get much better than that, how wrong could I have been?

Compared to the MGM or the Luxor, the Hard Rock Hotel isn't that good to look at from the outside and the new HRH Tower could easily be mistaken for a multi-story car park, however you are instantly reminded about what is in store when you see the trade-mark giant Hard Rock Electric Guitar that you see outside Hard Rock Cafes around the world (this one is just BIGGER, much BIGGER!).

As soon as you step out of the taxi, you can hear the music which tends to be mostly a mix of classic rock and modern rock so if you don't like your rock music, probably best to stay somewhere else! Personally, I love classic rock and I was already in the mood to dance by the time I got to the check-in. As soon as you step inside the Hard Rock, you just know it's going to be funtime! If you've ever been to a Hard Rock Cafe, then the way the place looks on the inside will be no surprise to you, it's just bigger, slightly darker and contains a casino!

Once checked in, we checked out the room. Impressive, very impressive! I was already feeling like a celebrity before I got to the room, now I was an A Lister, maybe even a Rockstar! The room was simply gorgeous with a huge plasma TV and the most comfortable bed in the entire universe with six big fluffy pillows and a mattress fit for a princess. Getting over the Jet Lag was not going to be a problem!

Unlike the MGM and the Luxor, this place is definately for grown-ups and I didn't see any children at all during my 4 night stay.

The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino really is a fantastic place to stay whilst you are in Las Vegas. OK, so it's not on the Strip but it's close enough to walk there in 20 minutes and only a few minutes away in a cab.

You will find everything you want at the Hard Rock including the 4,000 seater concert venue called The Joint by Rogue, nightclubs, restaurants, a tattoo salon, shops, pool area, gym and spa not to mention a great choice of bars.

It's going to take a lot of persuasion for me to stay anywhere else when I visit Vegas again in the future, that's for sure...
